Why Greta Gerwig Should Have Won The Best Directing Oscar | The Art Of Film

Greta Gerwig’s 2019 adaptation of “Little Women” was nominated for six Academy Awards: best picture, best actress, best supporting actress, best adapted screenplay, best original music score, and best costume design. However, Gerwig was not nominated for a best directing Oscar. Her masterful blocking and direction of her star cast, including Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Florence Pugh, and Emma Watson, should be recognized for its excellence.
