At the second edition of Miss Transqueen India, held in Mumbai in 2018, more than just a beauty pageant went down. We go behind the scenes to meet the organisers and participants to talk about the notions of beauty, identity and what goes into putting up an event of this kind in India. While we’re still far from complete acceptance of transpeople, events such as these are a step forward in the right direction.
