We follow Julia Mage’au Gray into the world of Pasifika traditional tattoos and its resurgence within modern-day Australia and New Zealand.
Julia is a skin marker hoping to bring awareness and to reclaim a disappearing tradition. VICE follows Julia as she travels to the rural Inawi Village in Central Province, Papua New Guinea, to meet the last of the Mekeo women that are traditionally marked.
