I Survived an Air India Plane Crash
On August 7, 2020, on a very rainy day in Kerala, a flight headed from Dubai to Kozhikode crashed when it overshot a runway. 21 people, including the pilot, co-pilot and children, were killed. Ashik Perumbal was on board with his brother and friends. He dislocated both his shoulders in the accident and his group barely made it out alive. How ISIS Took Control of My City
Niniay Mohammad grew up in Marawi City and had just graduated as a teacher on May 23, 2017—the same day that local militants from the Maute ISIS Group launched an attack to take control of her home city. Although she had seen text messages being sent around saying that there would be an attack by the Maute ISIS Group, Niniay thought they were just rumours.
Niniay was able to escape the city after two days, but the siege lasted for five months.The conflict resulted in mass displacement, over a thousand deaths and the destruction of the city. This is Niniay’s story of how she survived the initial days.

Nisonin Temple – Kyoto – 二尊院
Nisonin (Nisonin-in) temple is located just a short walk from Kyoto’s famous Arashiyama forest. Nisonin is a small Tendai-sect temple that was founded in 834 by Emperor Saga. Unfortunately, none of the original structure survived destruction during the quite violent Onin War (1467 ~ 1477). It was later rebuilt as it is today thanks to the support of the priest Honen.The temple is famous because it’s where the poet Teika (1162 ~ 1241) completed his famous collection of Haykunin-Isshuu or One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets.
Finally, people all across Japan and the world enjoy Nisonin temple during autumn thanks to its amazing maple tree approach that will turn red during the season.
