Sumo wrestler Tamawashi Ichiro is known as sumo’s “Iron Man” because he has not missed a day of a tournament since his professional sumo debut. This is a very rare feat in sumo due to the frequent occurrence of injuries among sumo wrestlers. But not only has he achieved this amazing exhibition of endurance but he has also accomplished one of the highest prize in sumo – the emperor’s cup as top division champion in January 2019. Before the pandemic, sumo fans witnessed an amazing championship run in January 2020. After spending 12 of sumo’s previous 13 grand tournaments in the second-tier juryo division, Tokushōryū Makoto energized the sumo world by winning his first title with a 14-1 record. After completing his victory with a win over ozeki Takakeisho, the 181-cm, 188-kg wrestler broke down in tears of joy.

Tokushōryū Makoto is 35 years old now but his still on the top division ranking Maegashira #15 last July Tournament. Its unlikely that he’ll win another Yusho but based on what he did last January 2020, he showed us and other Rikishis that anything is possible.

Turning an actor into a real public figure on screen can be an even bigger challenge for Hollywood’s makeup artists than creating fictional characters, as viewers already have an idea of what that person looks like. This means bringing out all the details viewers remember about that person while leaving room for the actor to perform.

The makeup artists who turned Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour” and Charlize Theron into Megyn Kelly in “Bombshell” created lifelike prosthetic pieces that changed how the actors’ faces looked while discarding details like scars so emotions would still come through. Actors Taron Egerton and Rami Malek worked with coaches to help them move and play instruments exactly like Elton John and Freddie Mercury when working on “Rocketman” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Meanwhile, Margot Robbie got a CG assist in order to replicate one of Tonya Harding’s most famous routines in “I, Tonya.”

In 2020, 15 young people from the North-Eastern Indian state of Manipur created history. They became the country’s first all-transgender men’s football team. This team, called the Ya_All FC, defied the binary in sport. But their journey to recognition hasn’t been without challenges. A lot of people discrediting Kisenosato’s legacy because of his short tenure as a Yokuzuna due to injuries. However, earlier in his career he was a one of the best rikishis in the world of Sumo. Beating future yokozunas such as Hakuho, Kakuryu, Harumafuji and Terunofuji several times.
