Basic Bonsai care at Mansei-En – 蔓青園 – 4K Ultra HD – Improved Audio

With a strong, international reputation, Mansei-En is not only one of the best places to purchase and learn how to ‘raise’ Bonsai, but also a fantastic place to study the art of Bonsai care. One of the lucky few to have this chance is Adam Jones, who has been learning how to take nurture and grow Bonsai for the past four years. Here Adam will give us a quick glimpse into what he has learned, demonstrating with a Bonsai that is scheduled to be displayed at a nearby restaurant.

Note : This video replace the previously uploading one featuring Adam Jones from Mansei-En and comes with a much improved Audio track… Enjoy!

Osu Kannon – Nagoya – Aichi – 大須観音 – 4K Ultra HD

The Osu Kannon (Ōsu Kannon) temple is a popular temple of the Shingo sect (one of the major schools of Buddhism in Japan) located in Osu in central Nagoya. Originally built in 1333 in Osu-go, Nagoka Village in the Owari province, known today as the city of Hashima in Gifu prefecture, it was only in 1612 that the Osu Kannon temple was moved to its present location. This was due to the repeated heavy flooding that the city of Hashima suffered from in the past.

The temple is known for its wooden statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy carved by Kobo Daishi himself. He was the founder of Shingo Buddhism in Japan and is now resting in the Okunoin Temple in Wakayama. Osu Kannon is also the home of about 15,000 classic Japanese and Chinese texts, including several national treasures such as the oldest hand-written copy of the famous Koijiki, which describes the ancient mythological history of Japan starting from the 8th century.

Tokyo Midtown – 東京ミッドタウン – 4K Ultra HD

Located in the center of Tokyo in the Roppongi district, Tokyo Midtown is a huge complex opened in 2007 that includes offices and headquarters of major companies, such as Fujifilm and Konami. There are also shops, restaurants, museums, the Ritz Carlton Hotel as well as a gorgeous garden that is very popular at the weekend.

Some will argue that Tokyo Midtown may not offer the best shopping mall, but it does offer however a huge selection of restaurants that we definitely suggest you check out if you have time and a bit of cash to spare!

Tokugawa Art Museum – Nagoya – Aichi – 徳川美術館 – 4K Ultra HD

Nagoya’s Tokugawa Art Museum was founded in 1935 and built on the grounds of the Owari’s former feudal residence, one of the three major branches of the ruling Tokugawa family in Nagoya during the Edo Period. Tokugawa Art Museum offers visitors the chance to enjoy some of Japan’s oldest arts as well as many past artifacts donated by the Tokugawa Yoshichika itself, including samurai armor and swords, and also antique Kimono and tea ceremony utensils.

Not only is the Tokugawa Art Museum worth a visit, but its beautiful garden is also something that needs to be experienced and enjoyed, either on your own or with your family.
