Kaido Höövelson also known as Baruto Kaito is the first Estonian who reached the rank of Ozeki and has multiple championships under his belt including Makuuchi (Jan 2012), 3 times in Juryo Division, 1 Makushita, Jonidan and Jonokuchi. Before retiring from Sumo Wrestling and venturing into the world of MMA, politics and business he made his own mark in grand sumo wrestling. In January 2012, he recorded an amazing 14-1 not only claiming the Emperor’s Cup but respect from the Sumo Community. It’s a little bit anti climatic because he failed to beat the “final boss” on Day 15, but amazing performance overall.
