Tokyo Gotanda – 五反田 – 4K Ultra HD : Far from being a tourist destination, Gotanda is nonetheless an interesting place to visit or to stay if you ever come to Tokyo. Located in Shinagawa, Gotanda is one of Yamanote Line’s main stations, and offers a wide range of affordable places to stay and eat, making it a perfect location if you are on a tight budget.

Although by day it is strictly a bustling business district, Gotanda at night transforms itself into something akin to being Kabukicho’s little sister, with it’s compact, but very active, red-light district.

Mie Green Tea Fields – 茶畑 – 4K Ultra HD : Located not so far from Ise Grand Shrine alongside the Miya River and between the small hills you will find the city of Watari, its rice fields and its many green tea fields. Japanese green tea fields around Mt Fuji are indeed very popular, but tea grows pretty much everywhere in Japan and each region, a bit like French wine, has its own kind of tea, famous for its very unique, yet subtle, taste.

Mie Oharai Machi and Okage Yokocho – おはらい町/おかげ横丁- 4K Ultra HD : Oharai Machi (Oharaimachi) is the old 1 km long approach to the Ise Grand Shrine Naiku. With restaurants, shops and many old traditional buildings, Oharai Machi businesses have been serving customers, tourists and pilgrims for several centuries and as long as Ise Grand Shrine Naiku has existed.

While Oharai Machi is full of history and surprise, a recent addition to this street is yet another big success among tourists because of its many stores and restaurants : Okage Yokocho. Completed in 1993 and designed to represent a small town during the Edo Period, Okage Yokocho is definitively worth a visit and will surprise you with its authentic charm.

Mie Ise Grand Shrine Geku – 伊勢神宮外宮 – 4K Ultra HD :

Alongside Naiku, Geku is the second largest shrine in Ise and part of the Ise Grand Shrine. Located 6 km away from Naiku and near the center of Ise, Geku is is dedicated to Toyouke No Omikami, or the god of agriculture and industry. Despite being a large shrine, Geku is connected to 32 other small shrines, all located in the surrounding area, while Naiku is connected to 91 other small shrines.

Yamanashi Oshino Hakkai – 忍野八海 – 4K Ultra HD : Located near Lake Yamanaka and just in front of Mt Fuji, Oshino Hakkai is a little village blessed by several crystal clear ponds fed by melting snow from the slopes of Mt. Fuji.
Oshino Hakkai, with its location and amazing set of ponds, is the ideal spot for a stunning discovery but only for a few minutes per day. Mie Ise Grand Shrine Naiku – 伊勢神宮内宮 – 4K Ultra HD : Located in Mie prefecture and in the city of Ise, Ise Grand Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Amaterasu-Omikami goddess . Spread across a vast part of Ise, Ise Grand Shrine is mainly composed of two major complexes known as Naiku and Geku.

Being the principal temple of Ise Grand Shrine, Naiku, is by far the most beautiful shrine of all, with trees as old as 800 years. Being one of Japan’s most sacred shrines it is not permitted for anyone to take photos or videos above a certain threshold, as well as the many partitions that keep the secret beauty of this place intact and only available to a certain few. Simple yet majestic, the shrine is unlike many others in Japan, rebuilt every 20 years from top to bottom including as well the Uji Bridge. This is a 100m long bridge, which also happens to be the only way for people like you and I to access the shrine.

Kanagawa Yokohama Minato Mirai Part 2 – 横浜みなとみ : Before we start we would like to remind you to go and check the first part of this video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvNd41bwV8o

Located in the sprawling area that is Minato Mirai, Akarenga or more exactly Yokohama Akarenga Sōko, is an historical point of interest made of red bricks. It is a warehouse complex built around 1911 to 1913 but despite being over a hundred year old, these buildings were still used as warehouses until 1989. It was only in 1992 when Yokohama city acquired the proper jurisdiction over the buildings that the city started to turn them into a commercial and cultural facility, opening to the public after renovations were complete in April 2002.

Finally, and just in front of Akarenga, we will find the Ōsanbashi Pier, which like Akarenga was renovated and opened to the public in April 2002. Designed by Alejandro Zaera-Polo and Farshid Moussav, the Ōsanbashi Pier is the main international passenger pier of Yokohama port. Open to the public, this pier not only offers some nice restaurants and conference rooms, it also feature a stunning wooden deck giving you the possibility to to not only enjoy Yokohama Pier, Akarenga, Minato Mirai but also the chance, weather permitting, to get a stunning view of Mt Fuji over Yokohama.

Developed in the 80s, Minato Mirai 21 is a major center for business where companies like Nissan Motors have their headquarters, alongside companies like JGC Corp or even Chiyoda Cop. Aside from its role as a business hub, it also features many international hotels, museums, a stunning ferris wheel with breathtaking views, and a magnificent skyscraper. Autumn is finally upon us and like pretty much everywhere in the world, autumn colors in Japan are something pretty amazing to see and enjoy. Better known as ‘koyo’ in Japanese, this phenomenon attract millions of visitors to parks and temples all across the country for this yearly natural celebration.

While we will cover autumn leaves later this month in different temples, we decided to start the season with the amazing forests, lake and waterfall surrounding Nikko, including Yumoto Onsen, Yudaki Waterfall, Lake Chuzenji, Mt Hangetsuyama in order and to finish with the magnificent Kegon Waterfall!
