The Bunkyo Civic Center, and its Sky View Lounge observatory is, as far as we are concerned, the best spot in Tokyo to enjoy Mt Fuji behind Shinjuku’s major skyscrapers. Open year round with free admission since 1994, the Bunkyo Civic Center had a rather rocky start and today’s design is actually very different from the initial one! the original building that was built in 1959 was not deemed to match future safety standards and it was instead decided that it would make more economical sense to come-up with an entire new design.
Opening for the second time in 1994, the Bunkyo Civic Center, the administrative heart of Bunkyo, is a radiant compromise between modern architecture and functionality. If you ever have the chance to visit the Bunkyo Civic Center, we would strongly advise you to do so as early as possible in the morning (9 a.m.) or during sunset.

Less impressive than Hotokegura, but also located in Aomori, Senjoziki Coast rock formation is the result of the uplifting of land due to an earthquake in 1792. The rock shelf of approximately 12 kilometers, on which the lord of the area had 1,000 tatami mats laid out for a party, sweeps along the coast. According to Aomori prefecture, Senjoziki has been selected to be among the 100 best locations in Japan for its amazing sunset.

Hotokegaura – Aomori – 仏ヶ浦 – 4K Ultra HD
Hotokegaura is one of Aomori prefecture’s most scenic and most difficult rock formations to access. Today Hotokegaura is designated as a Natural Monument of Japan and pleasure boats are operated to enable landing and strolling on the coast.
Nearly 20 million years ago, deep sea volcanic activity created a precipice of green volcanic tuff around the current village of Sai in the Shimokita peninsula. Over many years, the rough waves of Tsugaru Channel eroded the precipice turning it into a fantastically shaped rock formation that goes on for 2 km along the coast.

Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge – Aomori – 鶴の舞橋 – 4K Ultra HD
Located in Tsuruta in the northern Japan prefecture of Aomori, the Tsuru-no-Mai bridge is Japan’s longest wooden bridge! Completed in July 1994, the 300 meter long 3 arch bridge spans across Tsugaru Fujimi Lake. Tsuru no Mai Bridge appears differently as seasons change. Spectacular scenes of the bridge emerge with dusk as the bridge is colored orange and red during sunset. This is an example of why tourists are drawn to visit this place.
