Located near the Imperial Palace and the Yasukuni Shrine, Chidorigafuchi is a national Japanese cemetery and memorial for approximately 350,000 unidentified war dead of the Second World War. Despite its gloomy background, Chidorigafuchi is, once a year during hanami, the cherry blossom season, one of Tokyo’s hottest places to enjoy the cherry blossoms either by walking along Chidorigafuchi’s moat or by boat if you are patient enough to wait for hours before being able to rent one. Fantastic by day, Chidorigafuchi’s moat cherry blossoms are also worth checking at night too!

Malgré son histoire glauque, Chidorigafuchi est, pendant la saison du hanami (la saison des cerisiers), un des meilleurs endroits de Tokyo pour profiter de la floraison des cerisiers soit en marchant le long des douves de Chidorigafuchi, ou par bateau si vous avez la patience d’attendre plusieurs heures avant de pouvoir en louer un. Magnifique de jour, les cerisiers des douves de Chidorigafuchi sont tout aussi resplendissants la nuit !
