Kyujinnomaru Tei – Oshima Tokyo Island – 旧甚の丸邸 – 4K Ultra HD

Kyujinnomaru Tei used to be the estate of the head of the Oshima island (Tokyo) fisherman’s union during the Meiji period, today it’s an open and free to the public house turned into a small museum giving the chance for anyone to get a look at what a house during this era (1868 – 1912) looked liked. Granted there’s not much to see, but just having the chance to sit on a tatami in one of the many rooms in summer is just as fantastic as one can expect and close to what travelling back in time would feel like.

Note: According to some locals, the days of this small house are numbered as it is very possible that it may soon be turned into a small ryokan.
